The Landing

Peace

Shared Light

Let the water keep the light without needing to possess it.

“Peace can be a wilderness, a wide landing, and enough room for another person beside you.”

Stay for one quiet breath. Notice what has changed simply because you looked.

first, arrive

There is room beside the light.

Shared Light began with sunlight passing through a familiar stand of trees. Reflection carried one light toward another, while the quiet water held both without needing to possess either one.

Pause at the landing. Let there be room for another person beside you.

look closer

One light becomes two.

Begin with the original moment beside its first reflection. Touch the image when you are ready to let the complete, unaltered work cross the water.

Begin with the moment as it was first held.

the returning invitation

A landing appears between two lights.

The Landing is the one invitation in which something was deliberately added: a dock, a waiting boat, and a place to meet. Touch it and let the imagined landing give way to the complete work—the light that was already there.

the landing we imagined

a place waits between two shores

the invitation opens

the unaltered light carries us home

Shared

then, enter the reflection

The light reaches both shores.

Follow the complete unaltered reflection from edge to edge. Nothing new was added. The familiar treeline simply learned to hold more than one sun.

The complete unaltered Shared Light reflection extending from shore to shore

Light shared is never light diminished. It becomes room enough for another person beside you.

three quiet questions

What do you notice now?

Where is there room beside you?

It may be a chair, a listening silence, a waiting place, or one ordinary kindness that says you may arrive.

What light have you received because someone shared it?

Notice the person, place, or small gesture that made the way visible without asking to own it.

What becomes possible when the landing is not yours alone?

The answer may be companionship, welcome, witness—or simply the relief of not crossing the water alone.
